This special process of reverse painting is a derivative of a very old process of painting on the inside of glass vessels or on the reverse side of a piece of glass, but showing the front unpainted side. In my process, I use plexiglass in lieu of glass and I use acrylic paint to create the abstract images. The result is a completely smooth surface and an enhanced vibrancy of colour as the paint is seen through a layer of plexiglass. I love the idea of being connected to historical techniques while using current day materials.
